About Our Chapter
About Us
The Fox River Valley Chapter of the National Society Daughters of the American Revolution (NSDAR or DAR) was organized in 2015 and is located in Algonquin, Illinois. Our chapter is proud to be part of a lineage-based membership organization for women who are directly descended from a person involved in descent from an ancestor who aided the Americans during the American Revolutionary War.
Our chapter focuses on three core areas: historic preservation, education, and patriotism. In practice, that means supporting local projects that care for meaningful historic sites, sponsoring programs and recognitions that encourage students and lifelong learning, and honoring the service and sacrifice of those connected to our nation’s founding. Through hands-on service, community partnerships, and chapter events, we work to keep Revolutionary War history relevant and accessible for future generations.
Our Mission
"The mission of the National Society Daughters of the American Revolution (NSDAR or DAR) is to promote historic preservation, education and patriotism."
