About the DAR
The National Society Daughters of the American Revolution (NSDAR) is a non-profit, non-political volunteer women's organization dedicated to promoting patriotism, preserving American history, and securing America's future through better education for children. Founded in 1890, the DAR has admitted more than 1 million members.
Membership Eligibility
Any woman 18 years or older who can prove lineal, bloodline descent from an ancestor who aided in achieving American independence is eligible to join the DAR. This includes military service, civil service, or providing material aid such as supplies or money to the Revolutionary cause.
Required Documentation
Applicants must provide documentation proving each generation from themselves back to their Revolutionary ancestor, including birth, marriage, and death records where applicable. Our chapter registrar can help guide you through the documentation process.

Patriotism
We honor our military heroes through Wreaths Across America ceremonies, veteran recognition programs, and active support of service members and their families.
